If you want to live a life you’ve never lived, you have to do things that you have never done before and that often means going against our subconscious beliefs and breaking them down one by one so that you can start to clear a path in your mind. You know, one that isn’t so full of weeds and overgrown trees, but instead a path similar to one that you would find in a Disney movie complete with Princesses and singing animals.
When you stop and think about the thoughts that go through your mind (often on repeat), what are they? Are they positive? Supportive? Comforting? What are the areas of your life that you obsess about, worry about, judge, analyze? Be honest with yourself and write them down in your handwriting. The reason I say write it down is because when you transfer the thoughts in your head onto paper in your own writing they start to become real – and the reality is my friend, they are.
So if you want to step into the life that you want to be living, are the things that you just wrote down helping or hindering you from getting there? What if you started to ask yourself every time these thoughts surfaced how they are serving you? The reality is, you are going to have thoughts – but you need to start focus on the ones that help you, not hinder you, so get in the habit of filtering your thoughts, pushing back and challenging them a bit before letting them through and allowing them in as “real”……kinda like a bouncer at the door of a really swanky club 😉
What are you ready to let go of? What are you ready to stop obsessing about, judging, and comparing? What are you ready to commit to and stop doing so that you can create space for that new way of living and being?
Next week, capturing those moments and hitting the pause button when you hit your stride, feel good, strong, focused and confident – because seriously, we all need a little bit more of that in our lives!
