Style Tip Tuesday continues with another new piece from Smithery styled for maximum cost per wear. This week’s all about the tunic, a power piece that makes all kinds of looks. If you’re traveling this summer, you better believe a tunic goes in that suitcase. We used basics from my own closet to show how to make 3 outfits plus a wild card look from this Cupcakes And Cashmere tunic. La voila.
Look 1: Tunic + boho sandals
Stylist note: we recommend a flat sandal with a tunic when wearing it as a dress. The proportions make more sense than a full blown heel and better suite the boho vibe.
Look 2:  Tunic + jean jacket + booties
Stylist note: two things that work here – the jean jacket should hit around the natural waist and a nude bootie as opposed to a black bootie is important because it keeps the leg going and going and going.
Look 3:  Tunic + skinny jeans + open toe bootie
Stylist note: this is why the tunic is so versatile – it’s half dress and half top. A skinny jean could also be swapped out for a legging.
Wild Card: Tunic + Hat
Stylist note: We were feeling a little jelly over all the Coachella action and while many of those outfits are walking the line of a costume, pairing a subtly boho tunic with a chapeau is something we 100% endorse.
