A few years ago (ah hm, my reference point for just about anything that was at least a decade ago) I went to a fundraising tea event in Toronto.  There was something about it that had be completely intrigued.  From the way the day was laid out, to the food that just never seemed to end, to the gathering of women surrounded by their favourite friends – everything about it was perfection.  I’ve held onto this for the past “few years” wondering about how I too could start something.  Something that brought women together for a fun day out, while also giving back – even in the smallest of ways.  Every year I say “this is going to be the year” and then you know, life seems to get in the way (ah hm – I hesitate to pull the trigger), and then the next year rolls around (hit the repeat button a few times – you get the drift).  So instead of settling into disappointment that I never seem to be able to move forward on it I came to the realization that maybe I just wasn’t “there” yet.  I wanted a foundation, a reason, a purpose to put together a day.  But it also needed to include the right people at the right time.

So this is it.  2017 is the year that I am starting.  Every season, few months – whenever the timing seems right – I am going to be hosting an Isla Pearl Lifestyle Day (of sorts).  All based around a theme (seasonally appropriate of course) that brings women together.  To enjoy a day out surrounded by your favourite people, maybe even learning a little bit while sipping on coffee (champagne – no judgement) surrounded by beautiful things – all while giving back to women within our own community.

So my Favourite Thing this week is the official launch of my first ever Isla Pearl Lifestyle Day and all of the people who are contributing to make it a great day.  Here are the details:
