Don’t get TOO excited – these cookies are not to be confused with our other famous cookies that we make a la the Starbucks Ginger Molasses Cookies which will remain in the vault (you know, like a Disney classic) but they are however the ones that we use for all of our Holiday Cookie decorating. The right blend of “hard enough” to decorate but “soft enough” to actually eat – how’s that for a tagline 😉 .

- 2 1/3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking power
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, salt and cloves – set aside.
- In a large (this means larger then the one you used in step 1) combine sugar and butter. Beat at medium speed, scraping the bowl often until creamy. Add egg and molasses. Continue beating until well mixed.
- Reduce speed to low, continue beating while gradually adding flour mixture and scraping bowl often until well mixed.
- Bake for 6-10 minutes at 375ºF
